As Hijabis, when it comes to styling and choosing an outfit, we always keep it covered and modest. But what happens when you really like a piece of clothing but you can’t wear it out for obvious reasons?

No worries, here are five ways you can style that piece of clothing in your wardrobe.

  1. Slip on dresses

Easy. Grab a long sleeved top that matches it, wear it underneath your slip-on and you are good to go. Another way is to ditch the long-sleeved top and opt for a jacket of your choice over the dress.

  1. Leggings and skinny jeans

Got a dress that is a few inches shorter than your height? Leggings and skinny jeans to the rescue. This way, you rock it and you don’t have to dash your younger siblings that dress.

  1. Gym wears

Most gym wears is not exactly Hijabi friendly, and if you are the type that goes to a mixed gym, it can be quite challenging. But not to worry, do you have sweatpants or even leggings at home? You can buy a sweatshirt or you can simply sew, yes, sew a long baggy top from a jersey material (most preferably because it is lightweight).

  1. Crop tops

Have a plain gown or shirt and want a pop of colour? Your crop tops are a good splash to your outfit.

  1. Abaya

Don’t know what to wear? Abaya to the rescue. Abaya is literally God’s gift to Muslim womenfolk.

Is that dress too immodest? Abaya. Wanna run an errand quickly and don’t want to change your pyjamas? Abaya. Not sure if to dress casual or chic? Abaya. You should have at least two of this lifesaver, the best part is it can easily be sewn and in different colours too.
